For Healthcare & Community Professionals

Additional support for the individuals, caregivers, and families you serve.

Families navigating serious illness are often trying to absorb medical information, make difficult decisions, coordinate care, support one another, and prepare for what may come next — all while continuing to live their everyday lives.

Calm Endings provides the additional time, education, coaching, and guidance families often need between appointments and throughout this journey.

My goal is simple: to complement the work you are already doing and help families feel more informed, prepared, and supported.

That experience is what led me to create Calm Endings.

Today, I use my healthcare background to coach, educate, guide, and support individuals and families as they navigate serious illness, caregiving, end-of-life planning, and the final stages of life.

Through Calm Endings, I am not acting as the family's nurse or replacing their clinical team. I help families better understand the information they are receiving, prepare meaningful questions, organize what needs to happen next, communicate their wishes, and build the support system around them.

When Calm Endings May Help

You may have a patient, client, resident, caregiver, or family who needs more time and guidance than your role or appointment allows.

Calm Endings may be a helpful resource when someone:

  • Feels overwhelmed following a serious or life-limiting diagnosis
  • Does not fully understand what their healthcare team has explained
  • Needs help preparing questions or conversations
  • Has a caregiver carrying too much of the responsibility
  • Is navigating changing care needs, palliative care, or hospice
  • Needs help building and organizing a caregiving village
  • Is struggling with family communication or difficult decisions
  • Wants to clarify and communicate end-of-life wishes
  • Needs help preparing children or other loved ones
  • Wants support creating meaningful legacy projects or final wishes
  • Feels frightened or unprepared for what may happen as illness progresses

Sometimes the family does not need another medical appointment.

They need someone who can sit with them, slow everything down, help them understand what they have heard, and help them determine what comes next.

That is where Calm Endings can help.

Working Alongside You — Not Instead of You

I deeply value the professionals already surrounding a family.

Making a Referral

There are two simple ways to connect someone with Calm Endings.

Share Calm Endings With Them

You can provide the individual or caregiver with my information and invite them to schedule a complimentary 30-minute Guidance Call whenever they feel ready.

Share Calm Endings

Make a Warm Introduction

Sometimes an overwhelmed caregiver does not need another item added to their to-do list.

With the individual or family's permission, you may introduce us directly. You can share their preferred contact information and a brief reason you believe additional support may be helpful, and I can reach out to introduce myself.

The family remains completely in control of whether they would like to continue.

Make a Referral

A referral does not obligate the individual or family to purchase services. Please do not send medical records or detailed protected health information through the general referral form.

What Happens After the Referral?

I begin by listening.

Every new family is offered a complimentary 30-minute Guidance Call so I can understand what is happening, what feels most difficult, and what kind of support might actually help.

The next step may be:

  • A focused Clarity & Action Session
  • Ongoing one-on-one coaching
  • Higher-touch Concierge Support
  • A self-guided course or resource
  • A referral back to their existing care team
  • Or another professional or community resource altogether

Sometimes the most useful thing I can do is recognize that I am not the resource they need — but I may know who is.

That is an important part of Calm Endings.

Who I Want to Know

I welcome connections with professionals and organizations supporting people through serious illness, caregiving, end of life, death, and grief, including:

  • Hospice and palliative care organizations
  • Physicians, nurses, social workers, and case managers
  • Home health and private caregiving services
  • Therapists, counselors, and grief professionals
  • Chaplains, clergy, spiritual-care providers, and faith communities
  • End-of-life doulas and other death-care professionals
  • Senior living and long-term-care communities
  • Elder-law and estate-planning professionals
  • Funeral homes, funeral directors, and memorial professionals
  • Caregiver-support and community organizations

You do not need to have a family to refer before introducing yourself.

I want to understand what you do, who you serve, and when your services may be helpful so that when one of the families I support needs your expertise, I know where to send them.

The directory will grow to include resources such as:

  • Hospice and palliative care
  • Home health and private caregiving
  • Therapy and grief support
  • Social work and care management
  • Spiritual and faith-based support
  • End-of-life and death-care professionals
  • Elder-law and estate-planning services
  • Funeral and memorial care
  • Senior living and long-term-care resources
  • Local caregiver and community organizations

My vision is simple:

When an overwhelmed family tells me, “We need help finding someone,” I do not want my answer to be, “Try searching online.”

I want to be able to say, “Let’s see who is available in your community.”

As I build relationships with professionals across the United States and Canada, the directory will continue to grow state by state and province by province.

Professionals from any U.S. state or Canadian province are welcome to connect now.

The Calm Endings Resource Directory is currently in development. Inclusion in the directory will be based on relevance, professional fit, and the needs of the families Calm Endings serves.

Let’s Get to Know Each Other

You do not need to wait until you have someone to refer.
